Our salons are part of a multi-award winning, family run business with many years’ experience in the beauty industry. Established in 2004, we have grown to one of Stockbridge and Edinburgh’s finest beauty centres and offering the latest in many aesthetic services. We are the recipient of many industry awards over the years, most recently we WON BEAUTY SALON OF THE YEAR AT THE 2021 SCOTTISH HAIR AND BEAUTY AWARDS (SHABA) and were finalists in the same category at the 2022 awards. Also at the 2022 awards, our Senior Therapist won the BEAUTY THERAPIST OF THE YEAR. and we were finalists in the following categories – BEAUTY SALON OF THE YEAR, MASSAGE THERAPIST OF THE YEAR, BROW ARTIST OF THE YEAR & COSMETIC PRACTITIONER OF THE YEAR.

Womankind Clinic and Original Salon has a large team giving both men and women a wide choice of treatments in one salon.
Our range of treatments cater for most needs and our friendly staff will offer educated advice on our services and products for every individual. Most treatments are carried out in a prescriptive way, aiming to achieve the highest possible results.

Meet the team
Lauren
Founder & Owner
Having started my career at 17 I always knew I wanted to be in the Beauty industry. I have always had a passion for making people feel good and love learning new things. I love how even the smallest of treatments can transform a person. I started womankind in 2004 and as the business grew, my mum and I opened the Stockbridge salon in 2006. I have had a wonderful journey growing the salon and working and developing a phenomenal team of innovative professionals. We now collectively bring you expert top beauty services in a beautiful city salon designed to give you a non judgement space away from it all while you can unwind and be pampered. As My career matured my interests in anti ageing, skincare and non invasive aesthetics have become my speciality. I love working with clients to achieve their skin and body goals and my favourite treatments would have to be the Microneedling, Cryopen, hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

Salon Manager
I joined the Salon in January 2012, having started out as a work experience in 2010. I was lucky enough to get a job in this lovely salon. Now as salon manager, I look to drive the Salon to new heights and expand my skills in my job roll. I absolutely love my job, meeting new people and gaining amazing relationships with my colleagues. I would say now in my career, massage and waxing are my favourites. I’m learning new techniques with nails and am working to make my work stand out. I have two beautiful daughters who are my life and I am extremely proud to be a young mum. X

Salon Manager
Having joined Womankind in 2018, I currently work as a Senior Therapist whilst managing the team at the new Womankind at Charlie Miller salon. My main interest is advanced facial treatments where I help clients treat the deeper layers of the skin with tangible results. I strive to make every client feel relaxed, gain their trust, and ultimately leave the salon looking radiant on every occasion. When I am not at the salon, you can find me dancing salsa, working out or driving around Scotland.

Therapist
I am a qualified beauty and complementary therapist. I started working in beauty in 2009 after graduating from Mary Reid. I had an interest in beauty from a very young age. I decided to pursue it as a career because I enjoy helping people to look beautiful and the best versions of themselves. I specialise in threading and eyebrow treatments. I went to India to learn threading at the VLCC Beauty Institute in Delhi. I am also passionate about skincare and aesthetics. My favourite things to do outside of work are spending time with my family, yoga and meditation, gardening and growing flowers and organic vegetables in my allotment.

Therapist
I have worked at womankind beauty since 2017. I enjoy doing nail treatments, facials and make up applications. I have always had a passion for skincare and make up. I love making my clients feel good and helping them achieve their skincare goals. Outside of work I enjoy going out with friends and family and also love a bit of retail therapy now and again. I love being a beauty therapist and I am looking forward to what the future has in store for me.

I joined Womankind Beauty in May 2018 for work experience and I was delighted that I got a job straight after. I am a fully qualified beauty therapist with an HND. I like to gain new knowledge and skills to meet all my clients’ needs. I love being part of this great team and I enjoy doing nails, eyelash extensions and waxing treatments the most.

Therapist
Toni joined Womankind Beauty in 2022 and works between our two salons. If you love a deep massage, enjoy a results facial or like to have a smooth wax, then Toni has a real talent in these areas.

Receptionist
I started working at Womankind Beauty in October 2021 as a receptionist. I have always been interested in working in the beauty industry. I love doing all kinds of makeup & learning new & different techniques and styles. I also have an interest in nails & have qualified in acrylics. In my spare time I love going to dance classes.
Ebony
Receptionist
Ebony joined our team in spring 2022 as a receptionist. She has a wealth of experience in the beauty industry with a huge passion and portfolio for makeup.
